Celtic Knots have always been a fascination of mine. Early on in my exploration of engraving I was told by one engraver that celtic knots were very difficult and that it was not worth attempting. I took this as a personal challenge, and years later here I am cutting knots just because I was persistent enough to make it happen. funny how things change when you put your mind to it....obsessively :-)

Triad of Celtic Knots cut on Mercury dimes for your pleasure.

The coin on the lower left is a "stages of progress shot" Layout was done with a sharpie and a scribe, followed by out lining and background removal and texturing, finishing up with fine shading and toning.
